Built for the Open Road.

Baker’s Motel is a proud piece of American roadside history. As the oldest surviving, continuously operating 1930s motor court motel on Route 40, we represent an era when the journey mattered just as much as the destination. Founded in 1937 by I.B. Baker, we were established during the golden age of American travel, witnessing nearly nine decades of history along the Historic National Road.

While the world around us has changed, our commitment to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment remains steadfast. We proudly preserve the charm and nostalgia of simpler days as one of the few remaining independent, American-owned motels in the region.

Preserving Tradition

Every room at Baker's Motel tells a story. From the architecture that reflects our 1930s origins to the hospitality that harkens back to a simpler time, we offer an experience that corporate chains simply cannot replicate. With our classic layout, you can still park right outside your door, step into the courtyard, and experience the warmth and personal touch that only a family-owned landmark can offer.

Stay with us, step back in time, and become a part of our ongoing history.
